You are not your Karma

You

feel like our identity. If a familiar pattern disappears, we may wonder who we will be without

During our retreat, someone asked me a question that made me smile: “If you clear my karma, will there be anything left of me?”

I understand the concern. We carry our experiences for so long that they can begin to feel like our identity. If a familiar pattern disappears, we may wonder who we will be without it.

But the energies you carry are not who you are.

When I speak about karma, I am speaking about energy and information within our system. Some of it may come from past lives or ancestral influences. Some belongs to the experiences we have come into this life to live and learn from. Karma is not necessarily something bad. It is not a punishment. Sometimes it is simply an experience we move through and come to understand.

We often think of karma only when something difficult happens. But an experience can also be quite ordinary. You may discover that you love a certain kind of work, or that it is simply not for you. You live it, learn from it, and move on. The experience itself is neutral; it is the human mind that calls one experience good and another bad.

There is a difference between living the experiences of this life and continuing to carry energies that are no longer needed. Old influences can keep us moving through the same patterns, even when we are ready for something new. In my work, the intention is to clear only what you no longer need. The experiences you are here to have are not taken away. The clearing can help you move through them more gently.

The same is true of the conditioning we accumulate during this lifetime. Perhaps you learned to believe that you are not good enough, that you must make yourself small, or that you need to become somebody else to be loved. Those beliefs can feel deeply personal because they have been with you for years. Yet they are energies and patterns in your system. They are not your truth.

When an old energy is active, it can shape the choices we make without our even noticing. We may feel that we are freely deciding how to respond, while a familiar fear or belief is quietly directing us. As these energies clear, there is more space to pause and sense what is actually true for us now.

This is an important shift on the spiritual path: to notice what is happening within you without becoming it. A feeling arises. A familiar thought appears. You can observe it and recognize, This is an energy moving through my system. I am not this energy.

You do not have to fight it or build your identity around it. As the system becomes more open, it becomes easier to see a pattern for what it is and allow it to leave. There is more space for a different experience of life. You can allow that space to open without rushing the process.

We do not have to force everything to change in one day. Life will continue to bring us situations that reveal where we are still holding on. This, too, is part of the journey. But as we become more aware, we no longer have to follow every old pattern simply because it appears.

What you truly are is not diminished when these energies clear. You are not your karma, your conditioning, or even the story your mind tells about who you are. Beyond all of that is your True Nature: timeless, limitless, and always here.

Clearing what is no longer needed does not take you away from yourself. It gives you more room to experience who you have always been.

Love,

Eva ❤️
